I really like Corel VideoStudio Pro for video editing, and I’ve been using it for 4 years now. Unfortunately it really falls down when it comes to the my new Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS60 videos which records up to 4K/UHD video at 30p and 24p as well as 1080/60p format in MPEG-4 and AVCHD, this is a problem. It’s not recognizing my Panasonic videos, I even take the card out of the camera and transferred them to my laptop and the program does not import them. I looked on the programs input specs and MPEG-4, AVCHD is compatible. Does anyone have any ideas?
From movies in minutes to advanced timeline editing, Corel VideoStudio Pro has something for every video editor. Tell your story—your way—with the new Multi-Camera Editor, hundreds of creative effects, transitions and titles, and pro-quality audio tools.
However if you check the support file formats by Corel Video Studio, you will find many videos like AVI, MPEG-1, MPEG-2, AVCHD, MPEG-4, H.264, BDMV, DV, HDV, DivX, QuickTime, RealVideo, Windows Media Format, MOD (JVC MOD File Format), M2TS, M2T, TOD, 3GPP, 3GPP2 are all supported, but why MPEG-4, AVCHD videos from your Panasonic Lumix cannot be imported into Corel Video Studio?
Make sure you find the Panasonic videos
Panasonic hides the videos in a subdirectory called PRIVATE. Then depending which format you recorded them in, look in the AVCHD or the MPEG-4/MOV_STMP directories. They are in there somewhere. Then you can select and add them into Corel VideoStudio.
Install the latest Patch.
For the users who still received with displays error message “Unable to open file” “file format mismatch”, you should go to the VideoStudio Updates and then download the VideoStudio Service Pack 1(released on Feb 16,2016), this service pack includes enhancements to the Multi-Camera Editor, enables users to multi-select by dragging in the Library, addresses localization issues, and improves the overall performance and stability of the application. With this latest patch installed, the problem would be solved.
